Interpretation
Words with a capitalised first letter have the meanings defined below. These definitions apply whether the words appear in the singular or the plural.
Definitions
- Website
- The portfolio website available at www.mihirbathani.com, including its pages, case studies and articles.
- Owner, I, Me, My
- Mihir Bathani, an individual based in Gurugram, India, who runs the Website and is the data controller for the Personal Data described here.
- You, Your
- Any person visiting or using the Website.
- Personal Data
- Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable person, such as a name, email address or IP address.
- Content
- Everything published on the Website, including renders, videos, 3D work, designs, graphics, photographs, text, articles, tools and code.
- Service Provider
- A company that processes data on My behalf to run the Website, such as the hosting provider.
- Local Storage
- A small storage area in Your own browser that a website can use to remember preferences. Unlike cookies, it is not sent to the Website's server.
2Personal data I collect
The Website collects Personal Data only when You choose to send a message through the contact form:
- Name, email address and message, so that I can read and reply to Your enquiry.
- IP address, recorded with the message solely to detect spam and abuse of the form.
Anonymous page counts. When a page or case study is opened, the Website adds one to a daily counter for that page. On the first page of a visit it also notes the website You came from (for example linkedin.com, never the full address). No IP address, cookie, device identifier or anything else about You is stored with these counts, so they cannot be linked to You. They are kept on the Website's own server for about 13 months.
The Website does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, tracking pixels, social-media trackers or browser fingerprinting, and it does not build visitor profiles.
3How your data is used
Your Personal Data is used for one purpose only: to respond to the message You sent. It is provided voluntarily by You for that purpose, and it is also in My legitimate interest to keep the contact form free of spam.
Your data is never sold, rented or shared for marketing, and You will not be added to any newsletter or mailing list.
4Retention

5Cookies and local storage
The Website sets no cookies for visitors, so no cookie consent is required. It stores a few small items in Your browser's Local Storage. They never leave Your device, and You can clear them at any time from Your browser settings.

The private admin area uses one strictly necessary login cookie. It is set only for the Owner when signing in to manage the Website.
6Service providers and third parties
- Hosting: the Website and contact-form messages are hosted by Fly.io, which processes data on My behalf.
- Email: a short automatic acknowledgement of Your message may be sent through Resend (resend.com), which receives only Your name, email address and message for that purpose; personal replies are sent through My email provider, Google (Gmail).
- Fonts and scripts are served from the Website itself. No requests are made to Google Fonts or public content-delivery networks.
- Embedded video: where a page embeds a YouTube or Vimeo video, YouTube embeds use privacy-enhanced mode (
youtube-nocookie.com). Once You press play, the video provider may collect data under its own policy, for example Google's Privacy Policy. - External links (such as LinkedIn, Instagram, ArtStation or marketplaces) lead to sites with their own privacy policies, which I do not control.
7Where your data is stored
The Website's server and database are located in Singapore. If You contact Me from another country, Your message is transferred to and stored there. By using the contact form You understand that Your data will be processed in that location, under the safeguards described on this page.
8Security
The Website is served only over encrypted HTTPS. Access to stored messages is limited to the Owner through a password-protected admin area, and the contact form is rate-limited to prevent abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect Your data.
9Your rights
Depending on where You live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the EU General Data Protection Regulation), You may have the right to:
- access the Personal Data I hold about You;
- ask for it to be corrected or deleted;
- object to or restrict how it is used;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email work.mihirbathani@gmail.com. I will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to Your local data-protection authority, such as the Data Protection Board of India or an EU supervisory authority.
10Children
The Website is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18. If You believe a child has sent Me their details, please contact Me and they will be deleted.

Unless stated otherwise, all Content on the Website is the original work of Mihir Bathani and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws, including the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 and international copyright treaties.
What you may do
- View the Content in Your browser for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Share links to pages on the Website.
- Quote short passages of text with clear credit and a link back to the source page.
What you may not do without written permission
- Download, copy, screen-record or save renders, videos, 3D work or other media.
- Reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell or sublicense any Content.
- Edit, adapt or create derivative works from the Content.
- Present the Content, or work based on it, as Your own, for example in a portfolio, reel or job application.
- Use the Content to train, fine-tune or prompt artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, or include it in any dataset.
Client work, trademarks and third-party material
- Some projects were created for clients or employers and are shown for portfolio purposes only. Rights in that work, and in any footage, data or branding it contains, remain with the respective clients and owners.
- Names, logos and trademarks of companies, events, leagues, sponsors and software shown on the Website belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
- Game quotes shown in the "Quote of the day" card belong to their respective owners and are shared in a fan capacity, with credit.
- Fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License, and open-source scripts under their respective licences (for example, the sketch canvas uses Excalidraw, MIT License, © 2020 Excalidraw, the resume preview on phones uses PDF.js by Mozilla, Apache License 2.0, and the 3D tapes on the homepage use three.js, MIT License, © 2010–2024 three.js authors). All of these are hosted on this website; none are loaded from third-party servers.
Permissions and takedown requests
To request permission to use any Content, or if You believe something on the Website infringes Your rights, email work.mihirbathani@gmail.com with a link to the material and the details of Your request. Valid infringement notices will be reviewed and acted on promptly.
12Changes to this page
This page may be updated from time to time. When it changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change too. Continued use of the Website after an update means You accept the revised version.
